MZ (Motorradwerke Zschopau) motorbikes were one of the few bikes that had sidecars along with them. The MZ two strokes were developed by engineer Walter Kaaden. This has played a major role in racing for decades. The engineer's two stroke system was quite successful that it was copied widely in the sixties by several Japanese manufacturers. Yamaha and Suzuki were a couple of companies that were so influenced by MZ two-stroke engines that they gained inspiration from it and created their own versions. The MZ used to manufacture side cars till 1989.
